We are excited to announce that Safari Island is open to members and guests! We hope that you and your families are staying healthy and safe during this unexpected time of COVID-19. Active and healthy lifestyles are more important now than ever and we are eager to assist you with your health and wellness goals!
To continue to operate our business, there are several Stay Safe MN guidelines we must implement and follow. We appreciate your understanding with these modifications to help keep our guests, members, and employees safe.
We will be operating at 25% capacity with a facility maximum of 250 people at any time. We must require all facility employees, members, and guests to reserve a workout time prior to arriving at our facility. All persons who enter the building must complete COVID screening as well. Thank you for your cooperation with these new requirements.
Until further notice, our facility hours are as follows:
Monday-Friday 5:30 AM – 9:00 PM
Saturday 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
As we move through the upcoming weeks and months, there are new procedures and expectations – this is a joint effort in creating a welcoming and safe environment. Here is what is most essential to expect from each other:
Follow recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Governor Walz’s Executive Orders.
Regularly and consistently clean touch points throughout the facility.
Provide signage to encourage increased social distancing throughout the facility.
Monitor 25% capacity throughout the facility with facility capacity capped at 250. YOUR ROLE
All members and guests must make a reservation for their workout or visit prior to entering the building. Walk-ins are not permitted.
All members and guests must complete COVID screening each time they enter the building.
All members and guests are required to wear a face mask at all times while in the facility, including while working out.
To serve as many people as possible, please be cognizant of the amount of time you are using the facility. We ask you to be intentional while working out and promptly exit the facility when your workout is complete so others may enter.
Remain socially distant from others (6 feet at all times) and respond positively to expectations communicated from employees.
All members MUST BRING their membership card to scan into the facility. If you do not have a membership card, please call 952-442-0695.
Bring a full water bottle – drinking fountains will not be available.
Family locker rooms and main level restrooms will be open. Men’s and Women’s locker rooms will remain closed until further notice.
Know your workout, plan ahead and be flexible if social distancing capacity is already reached in certain areas of the building. Upon entry to the facility, you will be required to notify the front desk regarding where you plan to be in the building.
Below is a breakdown of changes in each department to anticipate when you return.
Group Exercise Classes: Group exercise classes are currently being held virtually via “Facebook Live” due to current State of Minnesota Covid-19 restrictions and accommodations. Join our Facebook live fitness group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/840012476766708!
Personal Training: Please contact General Manager Julie Karnes at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a personal training session. Current MN Covid-19 restrictions require anyone utilizing personal training to wear a mask at all times while inside the facility and during training sessions.
Aquatics: Lap swim, the Rec Pool, and the spa will be available limited hours of the day. Open swim (lap pool and diving boards) and programming, including swim lessons, will be implemented at a later date.
Weight Room: Machines are organized to keep individuals socially distant (6 feet). Every individual is required to clean every piece of equipment that they use.
Track: Walkers must stay in the inside lane and runners must stay in the outside lane.
Gym/Courts: Please use social distancing protocols (6 feet) when on the courts.
Pickleball: Pickleball will no longer be hosted by Safari Island. Contact Dylan Schmitz email@example.com to set up a private Pickleball rental.
Family, Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms: Family locker rooms are open. Men’s and Women’s locker rooms remain closed until further notice.
Childcare: Temporarily closed until further notice.
Lion’s Den: Temporarily closed until further notice.
